iATS Everyday Heroes: iATS Raises $9k for Make-A-Wish Fundraiser

On August 2, 2018, 4 members of the iATS team rappelled 358 feet down the Hyatt Regency Vancouver in support of the Make-A-Wish® Foundation’s annual Rope for Hope fundraiser.

Funds raised from this event went towards creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. The iATS team dressed up as superheroes in honor of the true heroes of this event, the Make-A-Wish® kids. Their bravery and resilience inspired the team to take the leap and rappel down one of Vancouver’s skyscrapers.

Make-A-Wish® is on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness.

The team’s main fundraiser was an event at Guilt and Company, which included live music from Branden Dame, door prizes from generous sponsors like Christopher Stewart Wine and Spirits, and a 50/50 draw. The event helped the iATS Everyday Heroes raise nearly $9000, which also included a $5000 donation from iATS Payments that assisted in matching all donations.

Team captain, and VP of Sales and Business Development, Daniel Mitchell, encouraged the company to participate in the event. “We signed up for Rope for Hope to come together as a team to support the amazing Make-A-Wish® kids. Their stories are truly inspiring,” says Mitchell. “They are battling critical illnesses, and a Wish can help them and their families through an incredibly difficult time,” he continues, “the boy that rappelled before us was a Make-A-Wish® kid, 18 years old and fighting cancer. They are incredibly strong and resilient, so when given the opportunity, of course we want to support them and help grant wishes. We’ve been extremely proud to be able to participate.”
