Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager – New Business for iATS Payment (iATS) will be responsible for identifying and establishing ideal partners working with non-profit organizations in the North American market place.  They will also be responsible for establishing iATS as a primary payment processor for non-profit organizations among partners, and ensuring maximum client referral from the partner to iATS.

This role, reporting to the VP Business Development and Sales, is an essential part of the iATS team. Ideal candidates will need to be able to bring a proven methodology that finds and wins business in the shortest timeframe possible. They will also help to provide information on trends in the market place, competitive intelligence, and strong business plans to meet and exceed targets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Successfully hunt identified and potential new partners that work in the non-profit space, require payment processing, and aim to get iATS integrated as a payment service provider
  • Close partners that will meet iATS sales and profitability targets
    • Cold Calling (finding), onboarding (negotiating contracts), nurturing (integration with iATS), and seamless handover to Partner Relationship Managers
  • Communicating iATS vision, mission, strategies and goals to potential partners
  • Develop partnership programs built on shared benefits for our partners and iATS that meet both parties strategies and goals
  • Maintain up-to-date partner leads’ contact list
  • Maintain a consistent topline funnel that is repeatable and ensure targets are achieved
  • Manage overall pipeline that meets iATS sales process
  • Provide partner’s feedback and suggestions to Senior Management for potential new product development
  • Be able to present and position value, not price
  • Self educate and provide industry and market knowledge that is relevant and of value with the goal of positioning the benefits of partnering with iATS
  • Assist in the strategic planning for partner relations
  • 30% travel required
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by VP Business Development and Sales

 

Requirements

  • A Minimum of 5 years’ measurable and proven experience in hunting and winning within the Corporate/Business environment (preferably in Sales or Business Development)
  • Can demonstrate a proven sales methodology that creates success
  • Can demonstrate that they are a sales practitioner
  • Can think strategically
  • Has a strong understanding of general business acumen
  • Is a strong listener, has the ability to understand what is being said and how to best use the information provided
  • Experience with inside or outside sales
  • Highly organized and able to keep accurate records detailing the sales process for each channel partner
  • A self-starter who is extremely motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Comfortable overcoming objections and asking detailed questions as part of the sales process
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a timely fashion
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all information gathered for on-boarding of partner is accurate
  • Strong networking skills
  • Strategic planner to grow pipeline
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of computer software systems including Salesforce.com and MS Office
  • Experience in the payment processing industry and in the non-profit sector advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) strongly preferred
